Happy New Year! It's officially day two of 2016, and I'm so excited for what's to come this year at Heather Bullard Photography! Big changes are coming for portrait clients, as well as wedding clients.
The biggest announcement is that HB Photo is now a full service studio! This means that everything I represent: my studio, business structure, and clients, will be focusing on tangible goods for their future.
What exactly is changing? For one, my outlook has changed. In this generation, very few people actually have their photos printed and displayed. This is so important! These photos, especially wedding photos, should be displayed on the wall or in an album, so that future generations can look at them and hear stories of that event.
99% of my clients purchase the digital images- but what happens after that? Most likely, they end up in a drawer, never printed. Sadly, one day (sooner than later), the CD will be extinct like the floppy disk.
Then what? What happens to your photos? New computers are already being made without the cd drive, and before you know it, you'll need to convert those images onto the latest technology in order to save it.
This generation does not comprehend the importance of having photos printed because of the digital convenience. Kids are not seeing their photos on the wall anymore- they are all on facebook. They are not seeing their parents' wedding album, because they never had it made. This has got to change. Don't get me wrong- I'm all for having digital images as a backup, but lets get those memories into print and displayed!
In 2016, my portrait and wedding coverage has been altered to reflect this change.
New products are beingintroduced: Heirloom portrait & wedding albums, canvas wall art, and fine art prints. All three of these items were created with the intent to last generations. My new fine art prints and albums have a lightfastness rating of 108-200 years.
What does this mean? It means that these prints and albums will not fade or deteriorate over time, and are protected to guard against fingerprints, dirt, UV rays, and moisture. Another way to protect your prints is by having them mounted. Usually, mounting is only applied on large prints, to keep them from rippling and creasing over time. This year, every single print, from 4x6 to 24x36, will be mounted. Fine art prints have a unique texture base. Pair that with mounting and you have perfection.
Albums are also a great way to showcase dozens of images from a portrait session or wedding day. You have complete freedom to choose the album cover, colors, text, etc. These aren't the old, boring album you may think of when you hear the word 'album'. These feature thick pages, metallic or matt paper, and unique covers such as metal, silk, and plexiglass! They've been a huge hit for wedding clients, and now they are available to portrait clients as well!
Pricing has changed to allow A La Carte purchases, as well as collections that include large fine art prints, canvases, wooden prints, and albums at a discounted/bundled rate. As usual, there is no minimum print or product order after your wedding or portrait session.
This is going to be a great year! I'm excited to offer my clients such breathtaking products to display in their photos!
